Please note we are expecting to re-launch our Sims 3 Furniture and Sims 3 Wall & Floor sections with brand new material at some point in the next few weeks! All our Sims 3 Files are in a sims3pack file format which you can install with the Launcher (or other programs available for those who do not like the Sims Launcher!)

It's been more than a year since we last sent out our newsletter, but finally our database is now tidy and cleaned up of more than 25,000 dead, fake and bouncing email addresses. Phew! That was a lot of work!All of which means we're accepting new subscriptions. You can subscribe here or sign-up via our Support Area.

Our Links section is now also online. We had loads of fancy plans for this aspect of the site, but all of them were totally unrealistic and since the months have been whizzing past it seemed to be well past time we honoured our link exchanges and got it back online! Kate says:At the end of August I first posted a notice about this Demographic Survey provided by one of the Advertising Networks we sell space on the site to (the aim of which is of course to try and keep this expensive and busy site online!). After a little nagging and encouragement you have collectively run up just over 900 responses which is pretty good BUT still quite a lot short of the 4000 we'd really like to see to match the responses we got back in 2007.

So for everyone who hasn't taken it this time around, if you've got a minute or two to spare, please go and fill out the Demographic Survey. I promise there are no tracking bits or any requirement for you to sign up to anything!
All our downloads include any meshes or patterns or other parts they might need so you can put them directly into your game!

Installing is quick and easy once you know how:
  • Click on the photos to download files you want
  • Unzip the completed download
  • Put it in your game's Downloads folder...
  • OR run it with the game installer/Launcher*

    • If you need help adding custom content to your Sims game, please read the instructions available in our Support Area. You can view the Support Topics by selecting the ? icon on our top menu!

    *Instructions DO vary between Sim games and different types of items may need to be installed differenty or into different folders

    You can find more details about what this survey is all about in our Support Area, but the short of this is, by filling it in, you can help us to secure our financial future for the coming months and even years. It costs you nothing, it helps us a great deal, so please go and fill it out! If you've any questions, please feel free to contact me via the related Support topic. Let me put it this way - the less time I have to spend worrying about our finances, the more free time I have to think up shiny new custom content ideas (or something to that effect!).

    As a little friendly reminder, this website it isn't free to keep online! We don't have 'exclusive' content only available to visitors who can pay, nor do we ask for donations.

    You can help us cover our costs by disabling advert blocking when you visit Parsimonious. We have no nasty layers, click-through full page ads, pop-ups or pop-unders so they wont get in the way of browsing and they wont cost you a penny! Every little helps!

    Artist Recruitment: Joining Parsimonious
    Sims 2 Walls!

    With the release of Sims 3 several of our Resident Artists have opted to retire so we have plenty of open slots across the site for new artists to join.

    Unfortunately because this isn't a well funded big operation with lots of financial support from the community and loads of helpers and moderators, we can't open our doors for everyone to join. This means that we can only offer the small number of limited slots to experienced artists who have good technical skills and interesting ideas (wacky ideas are also encouraged, but are not a strict requirement!).

    Although things have been a little quiet around here lately, Parsimonious is still the 5th busiest website in the Sims community (the 2nd most popular free site) with more than a quarter of a million regular visitors, making it a great way to share your custom content creations for Sims 1, 2 or 3. All our Creators and creations are considered featured and special. Our easy no-text navigation means we get visitors from all over the world who come to enjoy our content (how great is that!).

    If you are interested in joining our friendly crew then information can be found on our 'vacancies board' in our Support Area. Each type of creating does have a few basic requirements, but no web skills are needed and plenty of support and encouragement is always available for our Resident artists!
